Carmel Community Girls Softball (CCGS)

Welcome to the Home of Carmel Community Girls Softball (CCGS)

We are the local Amateur Softball Association (ASA)-sanctioned organization that oversees the Carmel and Carmel Valley, CA recreational softball league for girls 6-14 years old.

Operated by a volunteer Board of Directors, CCGS is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the fun, safe, and competitive softball program available to all the girls of our community. We coordinate with other local communities, including Marina, Monterey, Salinas, Seaside and Toro Park, to provide intercity recreational play, as well as end-of-season Playoff and All-Star tournaments.

We are the exclusive softball-only league on the Monterey Peninsula. All the other local communities against which we play operate in combined baseball-softball organizations. This allows the CCGS to focus all of our efforts and resources on building the best girls softball program with the finest facilities in the area.

Our home fields are at Carmel Middle School in the mouth of Carmel Valley, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Santa Lucia mountains.

Our primary goal is to create an opportunity for fundamental skills development in a positive, supportive, friendly, safe and, most importantly, fun environment for every player in our league.

Starts Sun. Jan 22 Every Sunday until games start.		Free Pitching Clinic! All ages. Location: Carmel Middle School. Beginners:12:00-12:45 Advanced:1:00-1:45 All levels are welcome and encouraged to attend, but each child must have her own catcher. No "drop offs" please. Take advantage of this terrific opportunity for your daughter to develop her pitching skills.

Sat. Feb 4		Player Draft - Teams Selected Location: CMS room S2 (Team Managers Only) Rookie:9:00 AM Minor:10:00 AM Major:11:00 AM

Wed. Feb 8 5:30 PM		Coaches Meeting/Equipment Hand out Mandatory for managers, strongly recommended for all coaches
		Location: Pizza Factory. All managers and coaches must bring completed ACE certification and coaches application (new coaches only). We will discuss season expectations and responsibilities and eat some free pizza. Team equipment handed out

Wed. Feb 8 7:00 PM		Coaches Clinic - Philosophy / Fundamentals / Practice Organization Strongly recommended for all coaches
		Location: CMS Room S2. Clinic run by Terry McGowan. CCGS team managers and assistants are strongly urged to attend. This is a great opportunity to pick up some tips from one of the best softball coaches around.

Sat. Feb 18		Teams Fundamentals Clinic - Mandatory for players and coaches
		Location: Carmel Middle School CCGS coaches and their teams will learn skills, drills, and tips to running an effective practice. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your designated time slot to have time to stretch out. Times will be determined in February.
